Course Description
The project development and management training for healthcare managers course is designed to enhance the competencies of the health officials to manage development healthcare programs at various levels in the healthcare industry.

First, the course introduces participants to the fundamental concepts of healthcare project phases including project development, design, planning, implementation, monitoring, evaluation processes of healthcare programs in the public and private sectors. Second, other aspects of the course including planning, monitoring, and evaluation in the context of the developing countries will be discussed and analyzed. Third, the course will use the participatory approach to analyze some of the critical issues in the healthcare industry including, the significance of the emerging faith-based healing and traditional healthcare systems in the developing countries, the role of health insurance in our healthcare systems, and understanding and analysis of the emerging of the deadly diseases in our communities. Finally, some case studies of healthcare projects will be reviewed in the light of best practices.

Learning Methodology:
The course is delivered in a workshop setting facilitated by seasoned professional facilitators with practical experience. Active participation is required and the key to the success of the workshops. Other methods used in this course include case studies and problem-solving exercises. No tests or examinations will be taken by participants in this course. Assessment of participant’s performance will be measured through effective class participation, group presentation, group project, and class attendance. This course combines presentations, lectures, class discussions, group presentations, and problem-solving exercises.
